Arizona Breathe Free Gives Back: Supporting Feed My Starving Children
At Arizona Breathe Free, caring for patients goes beyond what happens during an appointment. It’s about being present in the communities we serve—and finding meaningful ways to contribute outside the clinic.
In mid-March, our Arizona Breathe Free teams came together for a volunteer event with Feed My Starving Children, marking an important step forward in expanding our outreach efforts as an Arizona volunteer medical group. With team members representing multiple clinics, the event reflected a shared commitment to service, collaboration, and community impact.

One Hour, Shared Purpose
During the event, our team worked side by side to help pack meals for children facing food insecurity around the world. While the task itself was straightforward, the collective effort behind it made a measurable difference.
What stood out most was how much could be accomplished in a short period of time. In just one hour, our teams contributed to a larger global mission—demonstrating how small acts of service can scale when people come together with a shared purpose.
As Matt Ghanem, CEO of National Breathe Free, shared:
“What stood out to me wasn’t just the impact—it was how quickly it happened. In one hour, our team made a real difference. That says a lot about what’s possible when good people come together with the right intention.”
A Different Kind of Connection
For many team members, the experience offered something beyond their day-to-day responsibilities. It created an opportunity to connect in a new way—outside the clinical setting, but still grounded in the same values that guide patient care.
The environment was collaborative and focused, yet also energizing. Working toward a shared goal helped strengthen team relationships while reinforcing a sense of purpose that extends beyond individual roles.
Orlando Vargas, Regional Operations Director, reflected on this:
“Our teams care deeply about the patients we serve every day, and this is just an extension of that. Being able to step outside the clinic and give back together—it brings a different kind of energy and connection.”
Why Community Involvement Matters
At Arizona Breathe Free, we believe that healthcare is not limited to diagnosis and treatment. It also includes how we engage with and support the communities around us.
Participating in initiatives like Feed My Starving Children allows our teams to give back beyond the clinical setting while strengthening relationships within the communities we serve. For many patients, trust is built not only through medical expertise, but also through consistency, presence, and shared values. Community involvement is one way we continue to build that trust.

Looking Ahead
This event represents just the beginning of expanded outreach efforts across our Arizona Breathe Free clinics. As we continue to grow, we are committed to creating more opportunities for our teams to engage in meaningful service and strengthen connections within the communities we serve.
