Josh Yorgason, MD is a board-certified ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgeon specializing in ear and sinus surgery, hearing loss, and balance disorders. He cares for both adults and children and brings more than a decade of experience in advanced ENT treatment. Dr. Yorgason also serves on the medical staff of several hospitals, including Banner University Medical Center, Banner Desert Medical Center, and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

Professional Background

Dr. Yorgason studied Human Biology at Brigham Young University and earned dual undergraduate degrees in Neuroscience & Behavior and Slavic Literature from Columbia University in New York City. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University.

His postgraduate training includes:

  • General Surgery internship — University of Texas Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital
  • Inner ear cell and molecular biology research fellowship — House Ear Institute, Los Angeles
  • Otolaryngology residency — University of Utah and Primary Children’s Medical Center

In Minnesota, Dr. Yorgason served on hospital staff at Allina Health, M Health Fairview, St. Paul Children’s Hospital, Maple Grove Hospital, and North Memorial Hospital. He was Director of the Paparella Ear, Head, and Neck Institute Fellowship Program and established the MN Ear & Sinus Center.

He has been actively involved in professional leadership, serving on the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Hearing Committee, the Committee on Implantable Hearing Devices, and as an associate of the Advanced Otology Fellowship Consortium.

Dr. Yorgason is a member of the:

His research contributions have been recognized with the NIH Institutional Research Award (twice) and the Stephen Gray Memorial Resident Research Award.
